Marianne Sweeny considers herself fortunate to be able to combine her passions for search and user experience as a Search Strategist at Portent. Before landing at Portent Inc, an Internet marketing company, Marianne founded Daedalus Information Systems, a company that specialized in helping clients understand and capitalize on the opportunities of search technology. Marianne launched the search marketing and optimization practice for Ascentium that included enterprise search configuration and optimization. She is currently teaching Introduction to Information Retrieval as a guest faculty member at the University of Washington Information School.
